Alex Black Aces lost 1-2 against Baberwa FC in a league match played at the Greek Sportingt Club this afternoon

Both teams played the opening 15 minutes with caution but Baberwa broke the Aces hearts with a soft goal in the 17th minute. Baberwa's Mathoho converted an innoculous corner from a Lucky Mzizi. 1-0.

Coach Ashwin Sutton immediately brought on Paballo Mngomozulu for Tebogo Mathopa - and Aces did up a gear and momentum as they tried to break the Baberwa defence.

The Gold City Giants brought on Philani Khwela for Enrico Adolph in the 57th minute in an effort to inject pace into their game.

Baberwa then doubled their lead in the 61st minute after a counter attack and a well taken strike gave keeper Rita Hlabana no chance. 2-0.

The nippy Collen Zimba replaced Hendrick O'Neil in the 69th minute as coach Ashwin Sutton chased the game. Aces went all offensive as they searched for goals but were often leaving gaps for Baberwa's counter attacks.

Philani Khwela did put the ball in the net after a neat pass from Mngomezulu - but his effort is adjudged off-sides in nthe 89th minute.

Aces attacking play was finally rewarded in the 90th minute when Theo Mbiyozo pulled one back for the Gold City Giants. 1-2
