Alex Black Aces lost by a highly disputed goal to Swallows FC in the Nedbank Cup prelimary round in Tshwane on Saturday.

Alexandra Black Aces have had a rough week compounded by a second loss to Swallows FC within the space of a week.

Both teams went into the break goalless but Swallows broke the deadlock in the 78th minute via a corner that seemed to have easliy been cleared by Adolph but the linesman awarded the goal.

Both teams had earlier watched Tembisa Sports Center beat Garankuwa FC  1-0 in the 10am game and were eyeing a 4pm final.

Dingaan Metsi was introduced for Bogosi Morojele in the 34' and the move got Aces going forward and Hendrick O'Neil nearly capitalised when his first time volley hit the Swallows crossbar. Aces were forced into a 2nd substitution when Ermano Barends pulled a hamstring and was replaced by Thomas Madimba in the 40th minute.

Swallows FC made a double substition in the 52nd minute in an endeavour to inject fresh legs on a heavy pitch played in hot conditions at the Giant Stadium.

The Birds then got their best chance in the 76th minute but for a splendid save from Rito Hlabana who pushed the ball out for a corner.

Swallows scored the disputed goal in the 78th minute from the corner and held on for a 1-0 win.

The four Gauteng teams who qualified for the semi finals are:

Dondol Stars 0-2 Vaal Professionals

Swallows FC 3-1 Thembisa Sports Centre
