Alexandra Black Aces will kickoff their 2017/18 ABC Motsepe campaign against Swallows FC on Saturday 9 at the Alexandra Stadium. Kickoff 3pm.

The opening round of this seasons campaign was always intended to kickoff this weekend but rumours surfaced that the Gauteng stream would be delayed by a week. SAFA have now confirmed that all fixtures would now go-ahead as planned which has left a few teams scrambling to register their players in time.

Aces are also trying to register two additional players today and we will rather wait and announce a full squad once everything is confirmed.

The well traveled Ashwin Sutton has been appointed the Gold City Giants head coach with Edward 'Eddie' Williams and Lombi Mabusela as joint assistant coaches.

Swallows FC have recently acquired the Orange Vaal Professional status and will make their debut, although technically they are the old Moroka Swallows who were relegated last season.

Alex Aces have kept some of their stars from last season including the highly talented due of Theo Mbiyozo and Kurt Pienaar who formed a great attacking combination that resulted in many goals.

Alex residents will welcome soccer back in their stadium and theirs also a great curtain raiser kicking off at 12pm involving the Kaizer Chiefs development team.

SAFA have only released the 1st round fixtures and are expected to announce the seasons fixtures next week.

The Gauteng ABC Motsepe League welcomes Dube Continental FC from Soweto and Tembisa Sports Centre who are the promoted teams for the SAB league.

Swallows FC have acquired Orange Vaal Professionals while Pretoria Callies returns after buying AmaBEE's status.
