Aces Academy Results vs Bidboys Development

Alex Black Aces Academy won two, drew one and lost one in a tough SAFA Gauteng Development League fixture played at the Greek Sporting Club over the weekend.

UNDER 13

Black Aces 2 - 0 Bidboys Development

Goal Scorer: Karoly Retsos (2)

COACHES COMMENTS

A tough physical game made more difficult by the wind. This performance was the best total squad performance to date because of wonderful contribution from the goal keeper Josh Adank, which has been lacking all season and where almost every other player including substitutes fulfilled their responsibilities according to instruction.

UNDER 15

Black Aces 3 - 0 Bidboys Development

Goal Scorers: Sibusiso Ndlovu, Bradley Thomas, Corban Jacobs

COACHES COMMENTS

A dominant game by the boys overall. Fantastic use of the width and depth of the pitch to dismantle the pressing tactic which the very physical opposition tried to apply. This had a game effect of stretching the opposition’s defence in and thereby creating much required passing lines to purposefully possess the ball. Individually the boys applied themselves as expected.

UNDER 17

Black Aces 1 - 1 Bidboys Development

Goal Scorer: Raffice Amede-Kabango

COACHES COMMENTS

The strong windy conditions made it difficult to play good football. Was impressed with performance in the first half, the boys controlled the midfield well and dominated possession. They continued to play to our philosophy and were never advantage of the wind. The goal eventually came late in the first half from unlikely source, our centre back Raffice. It was a well struck shot which gave the Wits keeper little chance.

Wits used the conditions to their advantage in second half with long ball putting a lot of pressure on our back four.

The equalizer was scored in the final minute of the game. It was a good test for the boys, the back four had to work hard in the second half.

UNDER 19

Black Aces 0 – 2 Bidboys Development

COACHES COMMENTS

A bad run of form. We never applied ourselves, a very dismal performance by the boys. I can’t even comment on the technical/tactical elements of our game other than that we were poor on all forms. Gave the boys four day rest to themselves and rediscover the desire to fight for the badge.
