Alex Black Aces were tested by School of Excellence who left the Greek Sporting Club losing two, drawing one and winning one in the SAFA Gauteng Development League.

UNDER 19

Black Aces 0 - 3 School of Excellence

COACHES COMMENTS

The boys really gave their all, in all losses we have suffered this is one I’m happy to take as a football lesson in that you may play well and not win the match.

We pressed them high up field so that they cannot build up play as it is a known philosophy of School of Excellence, this resulted in a lot forced error  however we didn’t take advantage of shortcomings. We conceded two soft goals but the character displayed by the boys to try turn the result was pleasing. We spent 39 minutes of the second half in their half but it wasn’t to be. we accept defeat however we are not discouraged.

Black Aces 3 - 1 School of Excellence

GS: OG, Tyler, Loggenberg, Cameron Ashby

COACHES COMMENTS

Overall a good performance, the boys managed to dominate the midfield well in the second half through their pressing of the opposition’s midfield trio.

All three points were well deserved. A good unbeaten run of three games hoping to make it four next week.

UNDER 15

Black Aces 1 - 1 School of Excellence

GS: Samkelo Zwane

COACHES COMMENTS

Not a good game by the boys, despite it being not a tough game. Bad decisions in critical areas of the final 3rd characterized the boys’ play on the day.

UNDER 13

Black Aces 5 - 0 School of Excellence

GS: Karoly Retsos, Braydon Dunn, Seth Green, Atile Thage, Keitu Mphomane

COACHES COMMENTS

School of excellence persist with their philosophy of playing build up soccer from their goalkeeper and attempting to out possess their opposition.

We managed to not only keep them in their half but also managed to out possess them in all areas of the field. The boys showed good tactical discipline by spreading game and using the width and depth of the pitch to make the opposition chase and tire. The goals were all team constructed efforts again displaying good discipline.

UNDER 12

Black Aces 5 - 2 Rovers

GS: Chris Okpe (2), David Joseph (2) Kyle Joseph (1)

COACHES COMMENTS

Very good performance from the boys in testing conditions against a very direct team. Boy’s handled the aerial threat very well and kept them at bay to long shots at goal. Created very few clear cut opportunities but great team goals which was a pleasure to see.
