Aces do well against Supersport Academy

All the Aces teams, except the U13's recorded wins over Supersport in the SAFA Gauteng Development League played at TUT this weekend.

Under 13's
Supersport 3 – 1 Alex Black Aces
GS: Thebe Mosehathebe

Coaches Comments
When our right back (Scott Farnham) suffered an ugly broken arm in the first 10 minutes the boys went into their shells a little and made our already makeshift back line quite vulnerable.

Despite that we scored first through a wonderful well worked volley from Thebe Mosehathebe. SuperSport are a big side with lots of pace, we conceded early in the second half from a set piece targeting our left back and a goal keeper a serious area of concern for us as their second also came from the left side. The boys never gave up but unfortunately could not capitalize on any opportunities.

Under 15's
Supersport 0 – 2 Alex Black Aces
GS: Corban Jacobs, Rahim Arnold

Coaches Comments
Good determined game by the boys in many areas, from start to finish. Competed very well mentally, physically and tactically.

This was deservedly crowned 2 stunning goals, was also pleased with how the front 3 of Corban, Rahim and Junior were able to adapt to positional changes to great effect, resulting in Rahim scoring while playing only in his 2nd game as a central striker.

The main difference between this game and Wednesday's game, was ONLY a great attitude the boys brought to their office.

Under 17's
Supersport 2 – 3 Alex Black Aces
GS: Jess Rom, Junior Nare, Cameron Ashby

Coaches Comments
Bryn Deely's return has solidified the back 4.Having our center back pairing of Brad and Raffice back has also brought some clam back into the team. With IIia at right back having his best spell of his season has given us a back 4 which is hard to beat.

Conceded an unlucky own goal and goal from rebound off a great shot from distance.

We dominated a lot of the game and deserving of all 3 points. Great fighting spirit from the boys who came from behind twice to claim all 3 points.

Under 19's
Supersport 2 – 1 Alex Black Aces
GS: Karabo Letsholo, Tshepo Modiba

Coaches Comments
We started well and kept the shape well applying a deep lying defense as one of SuperSports strong playing attributes is speedy wingers and playing diagonal switches. we dominated the in the last 3rd and after scoring out opener SuperSport made 3 immediate changes first half which was also a clear indication of how well we applied our game plan.

In the second half we had a very compact midfield with a lone striker as an outlet for counterattack with the view that SS will be coming at us, we managed to get our 2nd goal. We conceded a soft goal yet again however we played far better than the last game. Taking 4 points out of possible 6 from SuperSport the boys have done well.

 Under 12's

Black Aces 0 – 0 Robertsham

Coach Comments
We all over them just couldn't create clear cut opportunities. Boys moved the ball well but lacked the vision and penetration in the final third.

A shout out to Robertsham who pushed us to the end and defended valiantly. Best game of the season so for development wise.
