Black Aces Academy was hosted by Kathorus Hyper Academy at the Huntersfield ground on Friday 16 June.

U13 : Kathorus 1-1 Aces (Thebe Mosehathebe)

COACHES COMMENT:

The result does not reflect the performance. The boys dominated the whole game with possession & opportunities.

The finishing touch was lacking mainly because the opposition keeper was very capable. What was impressive is the improvement in our ability to play through the third and maintain possession in attack.

Also our fitness, agility, reaction speed and pace was far better generally than the opposition.

U15 Kathorus 0-6 Aces (Jacobs (3), Jardim, Nare (2))

COACHES COMMENT

A good passing game overall. Good improvement in knowing how to use the width and depth of the pitch.

What was pleasing about the goals scored, was how well players tried their utmost best to create and help others to score. Great team goals!

Pleased with the work rate and attitude, for the better part of the game to regain possession as soon as we lost possession.
However, consistency in this regard is needed, especially in the heart of the midfield.

Having said that, one is fully in touch with the reality that development is a process and the boys shall get better with time.

U17: Kathorus 2-1 Aces (AJ)

COACHES COMMENT

Tough game, went down 1-0 in the 6th minute with the oppositions first attack.

Felt that we dominated most of the game with Aces having most of the possession. Some important players under performed which put a lot of pressure on the team.

Had a free kick awarded which was a meter or two in the box and the referee ruled it to be outside.

Their 2nd goal was scored directly after Alexi Apollonatos was substituted after he sustained an injury. Their is an improvement overall but still a long way to go.

U19: Kathorus 1-2 Aces (Tshetu, Botopela)

COACHES COMMENT

The team started really slow with patient buildup play, however our opponents were not pressing us and the instructions were to have some sense of urgency as we realised their defence was lying deep. This resulted in us taking the game to the final third with purpose.

We were leading at halftime 1-0 through a goal by Dino from a set piece combining with Zulu. A good goal with efficient inter passing and the third man run that exposed their defence.
