Alexandra Black Aces recorded a 3-1 win against Dondol Stars away from home at the Pilditch Stadium on Saturday.

Two goals by man of the match Theo Mbiyozo (pic) and a well taken strike from Shaune Mogaila gave the Gold City Giants all three points. The win extends Amazayoni unbeaten run to six games, the Alex based side last lost a match in week 16.

Mbiyozo opened the scoring in the 42th minute from the penalty spot. The home side did not waste any time in getting back in the game however, Dondol Stars were able to score the equalizer two minutes later to level matters after a lapse in concentration from the Aces defenders. The first half ended with both teams tied at 1-all.

Mbiyozo continued to trouble Dondol's defence and eventually he was rewarded for his efforts. The skilful attacker scored his second goal of the match to put Aces back in the lead just before th hour mark after showing great composure despite being surrounded by defenders.

The home side made a few changes soon after and threw in more attack minded players in the mix. But the likes Mahoa stood firm in defence and did not allow anything to go past them. Amazayoni showed character and absorbed the pressure well despite the home side pushing more players forward.

The speedy Mogaila showed great awareness and reading of the game in the dying minutes of the match. The right footed winger used his pace to get ahead of the Dondol Stars defenders before slotting home Aces third goal of the match.

Aces has successfully completed a double over the Pretoria based club and will look to keep the momentum going in the last Gauteng ABC Motsepe League matches.

Aces next match will be at home against 11th positioned Vaal Professional FC on Saturday 11 February 2017.
