Alex Black Aces is determined to end Alex Uniteds good run of form in the much anticipated Alex Derby at the Greek Sporting Club on Saturday.

Alexandra Black Aces have a tough task ahead that will require the Amazayoni players to go the extra mile in-order to register a win over arch-rivals Alex United. The Gold City Giants host their neighbors at the Greek Sporting Club on Saturday for the battle of Gomora. United won the fist round fixture 3-1 and currently have the bragging rights, but this has motivated the Aces players even more.

Despite a tough 2016/17 campaign for the home side, the team has laid a strong foundation to build on for next season. Aces are made up of mostly young, energetic, and talented players who are fully committed to the Alexandra community and making them happy. The club’s management has made it known publicly that the team’s main goal is to return to the PSL and bring football back to the township of Alex.

On Wednesday, a full strength Aces team showed signs of returning to their best in the last match against GaRankuwa United. Amazayoni dominated the match and responded well to instructions from the technical team which is led by care-taker coach Lombi Mabusela. The Gold City Giants faithful supporters will hope the team keeps improving and maintains their good form. Aces have collected nine points from their last five matches, keeping three clean sheets in the process.  

Alex United has conceded twenty goals in 17 games so far and the Aces strikers will look to add more come match day.
