Aces will be hosted by the Soshanguve franchise at the Giant Stadium this afternoon - kickoff 3pm

Alexandra Black Aces had a tough week preparing for the upcoming match against GaRankuwa United. Amazayoni lost a coach this week as Jacob Sakala left to join a PSL club, his departure will however not affect the Aces players.

The Gold City Giants have been hard at work and are fully focused on returning to winning ways away from home. The match will be played at the Giant Stadium, kickoff is at 15h00. Both teams come into the match looking to redeem themselves after dropping points last weekend. Aces will be led by caretaker coach Jonas “Lombi” Mabusela who is renowened for unearthing talent.

Mabusela was previously with Aces MDC team before his excellent work in the junior ranks earned him a position as assistant coach of the senior side ahead of the current campaign. Coach Mabusela will look to steer the team back to where they belong, a win against GaRankuwa United will go a long way in boosting the player’s fighting spirit and this will most likely result in consecutive wins for the club. Aces have been inconsistent throughout the season.

But with Mabusela at the helm, the club has a coach who understands the culture of the team and knows how to get the best out of his players. GaRankuwa United are currently 14th on the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League log standings. Playing at home, the Pretoria based club will be tough to beat. However Aces are confident of causing an upset, especially since the home team has failed to register a win in their last three matches, conceding three goals in the process.

Overall GaRankuwa United have one of the worst defensive records in the league with 20 goals conceded so far. On the other hand, Aces have scored at least one goal in all their matches since last November. The last game where Amazayoni failed to find the back of the net was against AmaBEE late last year. The Gold City Giants play attractive football, create goal scoring chances and are dangerous in-front of goals.

Aces will hope to keep their good scoring record going as they go in search of three points.
