Ex Aces coach, Kenny Ndlazi came up with a good game plan and his new chargers, Maccabi FC deservedly beat Alex Aces 3-1 at the Greek Sporting Club on Saturday afternoon.
Despite the 'home' ground advantage at the impressive Greek Sporting Club pitch, Aces have only won twice in seven matches at the Linksfield venue.
Maccabi got off to a flyer and opened the scoring in the 8th minute when Thabang broke the offside trap and easily scored. 1-0.
Aces go-to man, captain Clifford Ngobeni, scored a stunning equaliser in the 20th minute - his 4th in all competitions this season. 1-1.
Both clubs then conjured up some good attacks but both defences stood strong and the teams went into the break 1-a-piece.
Maccabi wrapped up the game with two good goals within 5 minutes. Firstly Mano scored in the 51st minute before Mothusi scored a cracker in the 56th minute.
Despite Sakala's substitutions, the Gold City Giants lost their 6th match of this seasons campaign and have now dropped to 9th, 12 points off the pace being set by both Maccabi and Orange Vaal Professionals.
