Aces in another crucual clash

Alexandra Black Aces will host AmaBEE in their catch-up game at the Greek Sporting club on Wednesday afternoon.

The much anticipated match between Alexandra Black Aces and AmaBEE will finally take place on Tuesday, 22 November at the Greek Sporting Club. The game was postponed from the 12th due a waterlogged pitch. Both teams come into this match on the back of humiliating defeats against JDR Stars and Orange Vaal Professionals this past weekend.

Despite the disappointing results, the Aces players are confident of turning the corner once again and will do everything in their power to do so. Before the game against JDR Stars last week Friday, the team had gone five games without defeat. The Gold City Giants has not dropped out of the top eight since the start of the season despite being new in the Gauteng ABC Motsepe league. The Gauteng stream is one of the toughest but the youngsters within the Aces have held their own.

AmaBEE suffered their first defeat of the season against Orange Vaal Professionals at home. The Jerry Sikhosana led side had only conceded four goals before last weekend’s match but cracked under pressure against the attacked minded Orange Vaal Professionals. This is good news for the likes of Theo Mbiyozo (pic) who enjoys running at defenders.

Mbiyozo has been one of the standout players under Steve Barker and will look to continue his good partnership with Siyanda Mathenjwa upfront. The duo has troubled defenders with their skill, flair and hard work. Match Kickoff is at 15h00.
