Aces gunning for Stars!

A fresh Alexandra Black Aces look to upset JDR Stars at home after being forced to postpone last weekends match against AmaBEE F.C.

The past week went by without any action from Alex Black Aces after their home match scheduled against AmaBEE F.C. was postponed due to the pitch at Greek Sporting Club being waterlogged. The Gold City Giants were disappointed by the ordeal but were handed an extra few days to prepare for the tough upcoming clash against JDR Stars. The 4th placed team will host Aces at the Pilditch Stadium, 18 November. Match kickoff is at 19h00.

Aces have gone five matches without defeat and are determined to continue with their good run of form away from home. The newly formed club has hit form and is getting better with each game. Aces are slowly moving up the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League table. The Alexandra based side is solid at the back, control the midfield and lethal in-front of goals. The fighting spirit within the Aces camp makes the Steve Barker led side one of the best and toughest teams to beat in the league.

A win against JDR Stars will see the team move to 17 points, closing the gap between log leaders Maccabi FC to seven points with one game in hand. JDR Stars won their last match last weekend away from home. The Pretoria side has only lost one match in ten encounters in the current campaign, a clear indication that the side is also gunning for the top spot.

With both sides with a chance of qualifying for the national playoffs, a tough encounter is expected as both teams aim for three points.
