Joining a new team can be difficult thing to do and the way you carry yourself will determine how successful you become with that club. Even the best footballers still need time to adjust to their new surroundings. A new coach, teammates and fans mean you need to learn everything you know about football all over again. Every club has its own traditions and ways of doing things. You can join a team as a big name player, only to be reduced a bit-part player at your new club.
A positive attitude will see you reach the stars. Much like Washington Arubi has done in his short career with Alex Black Aces. The Zimbabwean international goalkeeper produced a match winning performance on his debut against Orange Vaal Professionals. Arubi is one of few goalkeepers to keep a clean sheet against the attack minded side. His positioning, reading and understanding of the game meant he was always a step ahead of the Orange Vaal attackers.
Arubi dealt with every cross brilliantly, while he also proved to be the best shot-stopper in the league. The Norton born star has loads of experience and has been through everything in his career but still he stands strong and proud. He is already capped at U/20, U/23 and senior level in his home country. Arubi is one of the best goalkeepers to emerge from Zimbabwe and for many years, he has been trusted in goals both at club and international level.
Aces host AmaBEE in their next league game, the Jerry Sikhosana has already reached the ten goal mark in only 8 matches. Our defence is expected to be kept busy throughout the match. However going past Arubi will won’t be easy for the second placed team, especially if his performances are anything to go by.
Alex Black Aces would like to wish Washington all the best for the season and we hope that he has a great season.
