Barker searches for 4 in a row

Alex Black Aces will look to continue with their good run of form away from home against Vaal Professionals on Saturday, 29 October.

The Steve Barker led team has been unstoppable in recent matches, scoring an impressive 7 goals in 3 matches. Aces are currently 4th on the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League log and are considered by many to be serious title contenders.

Fireworks are expected at the George Thabe Stadium as Vaal Professionals F.C. is only one point behind Aces and determined to close the gap in-front of their home fans. As the home team, they will look to make the most of their home ground advantage. They could only afford a draw in their last encounter, but that won’t stop them from throwing everything at Aces come match day as they look to return to winning ways.

Even though both teams are playing against each other for the first time, Aces has nothing but respect for the home side and an open game is expected on Saturday. The younger Aces player’s know they have to double their efforts, and stick to the game plan in order to bag the three points away from home. While experienced campaigners such as Clifford Ngobeni and Thabang Rooi will play a bigger role as they are seen as leaders and senior players in the team.

Captain Esau Mtsweni's leadership has moulded the Gold City Giants into a formidable team and his partnership with Dennis Masina has given teams headaches.

With the window period for the SAFA ABC Motsepe league closing on Monday 31st October, Aces are expected to make some last minute announcements on new players.

Their ability to guide and calm their younger teammates down will be instrumental. A win for Aces will see them move to 4 consecutive matches without defeat. Vaal Professionals are expected to come out guns blazing but if the recent performances by the Alex team are anything to go by, you can expect a mouthwatering encounter with Aces aiming to close the gap with the log leaders. Match kickoff is at 13:00.
