Clifford Ngobeni, Dennis Masina, Esau Mtsweni and University of Pretoria's Botshelo Mfulwane have joined coach Steve Barker

Coach Steve Barker, who needs no introduction, will campaign this seasons' ABC Motsepe League with a great spine.

The vastly experienced and talented Clifford Ngobeni penned a deal yesterday, while Dennis Masina and Esau Mtsweni have come out of retirement for this season.

University of Pretoria's Botshelo Mfulwane also signed a season long contract yesterday.

Esau Mtsweni, who has just suffered the loss of his brother who was shot in a taxi violence incident, has been given the captains armband. Esau suffered a second horrific incident this week, when he was woken up at 2am by 8 robbers, all armed with guns. He was tied up while the thieves spent 20 minutes ransacking all his belongings including his car! We chatted to him today and while still shocked is looking forward to a good season.

Aces are up against Garankuwa United in their opening game which will be played at the Alexandra Stadium tomorrow night (Friday) - kickoff 7pm.

Local's Themba Majoro and Shaune Mogaila have been promoted from within the development structures while another two Alex based players are been assessed and were spotted during a friendly last Wednesday evening at the Alex Stadium.

The ABC Motsepe League is a new challenge for Aces and not much is known about the opposition, although the division 2 Gauteng region is expected to be a humdinger this season.

Nine Provincial teams from the ABC Motsepe league will battle it out for the two spots in the National First Division (NFD).
